My work seeks to invoke history/mythology and its relationship to man's universal condition, through aggressively layered paintings. Often torn open, the work seeks to represent the interstitial components of our existence, both physically, mentally and spiritually. I attempt to capture the meaning trapped between layers of human understanding, tearing the outer skin of painted burlap open, flaying the synthetic layers beneath for all the see.
