Stephanie Rooker is a composer, vocal performer, cross-cultural music educator, and sound healing facilitator. Her original music blends a broad range of musical influences: from folk music of her native Appalachia to her immersion in traditional music of Ghana, from years of classical and jazz training to her immersive study of global indigenous vocal healing traditions.

Rooker’s teaching is grounded in 16 years of vocal technique training and integrates multicultural methods of sound healing derived from her study with sound healing pioneers Don Campbell, Pat Moffitt Cook, John Beaulieu, & David Darling as well as vocal medicine/meditation techniques garnered from her certification in Silvia Nakkach’s Yoga of the Voice.

Stephanie Rooker resides in Brooklyn, NY where she teaches privately, facilitates a monthly community Voice Gathering, and records & performs regularly with various ensembles, including the Riverside Church Inspirational Choir as well as her own projects. Rooker conducts workshops and performs throughout the Tri-State area & down the East Coast.
