My work explores the sociological contexts of personal identity from different vantage points. I draw from my environment and experiences with all types of people to look at the ways in which we identify ourselves as individuals, as others perceive us, within the context of a family group and on the larger stage of a global society. Our identity is our ?cultural currency? that we may choose to re-imagine from time to time. We may inhabit several identities at once in order to present the many sides of ourselves in public.

In addition to portraits, I am interested in issues relating to gender roles, fragility of and re-shaping of family dynamics, identity politics and death and inheritance.
