I am a photographer using a critical, sometimes playful, approach to investigate representation itself. The "Morbidity & Mortality" series is a response to the current popular fascination with depictions of crime scenes, murder, and forensics. My previous work often addressed the depiction of men and women in visual culture and the power of "the gaze." I received her MFA in Photography from CalArts and her BFA in Painting from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. My work is exhibited in galleries and museums internationally, including New York, NY; Washington, DC; Chicago, IL; Los Angeles, CA; Toronto, Canada; Sandviken, Sweden; and Athens, Greece. I teach at the International Center of Photography in Manhattan and live in Brooklyn, NY.
