Fa Presto is an artist.
Inspired by urban architecture, he constructs sculptures from plaster, molds, and materials found on the street. Metal scraps, wires, broken objects and other scraps many would find in the trash or the gutter are the raw materials for his works. The work presents an acute small scale replication of various locations we encounter in many cities. He reconstructs places and their small details that we often overlook, ignore, and otherwise take for granted ? images you won?t find on a post card. Old buildings, alleys, and other public fixtures as well as the people who live in them are his muse. When he isn?t sculpting, he paints, draws, takes photos, and observes.
He lives in Brooklyn, New York with his artistic partner/wife.
