Proud of her NH roots, is a Brooklyn, NY based choreographer and educator. She is a recipient of the 2020 Residency Grant at Spoke the Hub, the 2018 CUNY Dance Initiative at Brooklyn College, The Field Artist residency, the Build grant and NYC10 DIXON Place - Top Choreography - Audience Pick.
In addition to her choreographic work for JKDC, she has received commissions to present at Florence Gould Hall, Symphony Space, DNA, Merce Cunningham Theater; Derry Theater, Palace Theater - NH, Dansstage Festival, Auditorio Nacional and Teatro Eugene O’Neil Theaters - Costa Rica.
Commercially her work has been seen as part of NYC Fashion week - Louis Vuitton’s ‘Life Is A Journey’ and Style Pointe Fashion & Dance. Joyce interviewed live on the televised programs ‘Good Morning Armenia’, and ‘Yerevan Today’, speaking on her creative process and work presented at HIGH FEST International Performing Arts.
Joyce has had the joy of working with and performing concert works by Adrienne Hawkins, Danny Sloan, Fred Benjamin, Richard Levi, Lynn Simonson, Miquel Lopez, Bruce Taylor, and Ron Forella.
Additional performance highlights include Cats -Theater an der Wien, A Chorus Line, Fame, Benefits for Broadway Cares, Michael Jackson Sportswear, Industrials - Lynne Taylor Corbett; Boston Opera’s Aida and Die Fledermaus - Sam Kurkjian, Graciela Daniele, and original plays directed by Doug Hall.
Her inspiration in dance and acting come through the direction of Suzanne Taylor - Michaud, Charles Kakatsakis, Adrienne Hawkins, Lynn Simonson, Michael Owens, Sally Johnson, Richard Levi, Michele Assaf, and at the Oxford Summer Shakespeare Intensive - London England; voice with Frank Kubik.
As an NYC Educator, Joyce has taught on faculty for STEPS on Broadway, Joffrey Ballet Trainee Program and Jazz and Contemporary Summer Intensive, guest faculty at Broadway Dance Center, and holds a certification in Active Isolated Stretching, (AIS). She continues to teach master classes and workshops in contemporary jazz, improvisation, and repertory throughout the U.S., and has taught Internationally for Spirit Dance, and DanceWorks - Costa Rica, Broadway Dance - Tokyo Japan, Paris Centre, Belgium/Brugge Dance Festival, and HIGH FEST International Performing Arts Festival in Armenia.
She has served as part of the Laguardia HS of Performing Arts’ subcommittee for Mental Health and Wellness, is certified in Mental Health First Aid USA and has served on the panel as an adjudicator for Jazz Choreography Enterprises, INC., and the NH Youth Dance Festival.
Joyce is happily married to Ray and the proud mom of her 17-year old child.
