A Detroit native, Redman has grown into one of the most prolific experimental trumpeters of our generation. Blending a sultry combination of Hip-hop, R&B, Rock, and Classical in Jazz genres, the young horn player continues to defy boundaries as he is often drawn in comparison to the great Donald Byrd.
Moving to New York in 2010, the American musician currently leads an eponymous modern jazz ensemble, and a soul quintet entitled Chemistry. He often cites "Detroit Soul" as inspiration for his compositions and experimentation, noting it's contemporary sound was a large influence.
