I was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico and raised with my twin sister and older brother in Rochester, NY, by my two very hard-working parents. From them I received a strong work ethic, a love of God, and a passion for the performing arts. Although I was interested in other fields, my intuition has always told me that the arts would be the one constant source of joy in my life, as well as the channel thru, which I could most easily connect to God. My parents were both very active in the community and instilled in me a passion for social justice and activism. I also learned from them the importance of helping others in need.
After graduating from high school, I attended the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, from which I graduated with a BFA acting. Since then, I?ve worked at various jobs to support myself while pursuing my artistic career. I?ve waited tables, babysat, taught classes, and answered phones, to name a few.
I took some time to learn about the business/producing aspect of the business by working for Lee Daniels Entertainment. Lee Daniels is the Academy Award winning producer of Monsters Ball and director of Precious. This experience taught me so much, and I really got to know and understand another side of the industry.
My first TV show ? We are New York ? won four New York Emmy Awards. I continue to work in various theatres here in NY.
