Jayoung Yoon was born in Seoul, Korea. Her work varies in format from performance to video, photography and installation to deal with the perception of being present. She received her MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2009. She was awarded the Franklin Furnace Grant Fund in 2010. She has attended many Artist-in-Residence programs such as Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine, Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Colorado, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council?s Swing space, Sculpture Space in New York and others in Utah, Florida in USA, and Argentina. She has exhibited in numerous solo and group shows in the USA and Korea. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
