Robin Michals is a photographer whose work has focused on the de-industrialized urban waterfront since 2007. For the last three years, she has been working on a series of photographs titled Castles Made of Sand of the places around New York City that will be impacted by sea level rise. Her series “Toxi City: Brooklyn’s Brownfields” was exhibited at the Brooklyn Lyceum in 2009 with support from the Brooklyn Arts Council and the Puffin Foundation.
