Brooklyn based fiber artist Ella Murray has been creating and exhibiting textile works for over 30 years. She studied Dressmaking and Textiles at the High School of Fashion Design (NY) and Textile Design at Fashion Institute of Technology (NY).
She has worked in the textile industry as a textile/weaver for various companies.The companies were Burlington Industries,Deerfield Textiles, Dan River and many other textile mills.
She founded and developed “Weaving Is Fun”-a series of creative weaving projects.
Ella Murray is a recognized Textile/Weaver of The Smithsonian Institute in the African American Design Archive since 1996.
