Ivan Rivera is an Artist currently living and working in Brooklyn, NY. His current focuses in the power of memories, their shifting nature, and the emotions that they evoke.
This exploration is expressed through the sequential abstraction of the landscape and images of bodies of water. This process is one of many stages where one painting is recreated from the memory of a previous one. Through this approach of recreation, each successive piece moves farther away from the original image, mirroring the shifting nature of memories.
Ivan's work can be found in private collections internationally. He currently he splits his time between teaching at Parsons School of Design, Fordham University, and maintaining a full time studio practice.
