Allison Prete is a documentary filmmaker who had produced and directed films for television and theatrical release. Her work has been screened at festivals word-wide, and at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Art Museum, The NYC Transit Museum and the Georgia O’Keefe Museum, and is in the permanent collections of the Donnell Library, the Smithsonian Collection and the New York Historical Society. Allison has received awards from the Chicago and Palm Beach Film Festivals. She has received the Municipal Arts Society’s Brendan Gill Award and a MacDowell Colony Fellowship. She has served in the board and as vice-president of the NY Film and Video Council and as a juror for the Brooklyn Arts Council’s film festival. She founded Rough on Rats Productions in 1995, and is the co-founder and director of the acclaimed film series, Big Movies for Little Kids.
