Ryan Elisabeth Reid is a writer, designer, theatre director and advocate for the elderly.
Ms. Reid is the founder and Artistic Director of Sprat Theatre Company. She wrote and directed Sprat’s premiere work “One Day in the Life of Henri Shnuffle”, an immersive theatre performance about one day in the life of an elderly man. The show premiered from May 2013 at 54 Bond Street, Loomstate in Manhattan. The performance opened to strong reviews from the New York Times, Hyperallergic, and other publications. "Henri" will be traveling to Smith Center for Performing Arts in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2014. Ms. Reid is also heading up a music therapy program in the Dementia Unit at Isabella Geriatric Center, Manhattan and does consulting regarding elder care, outreach and programming.
Ms. Reid has been a costume designer for the San Francisco Mime Troupe, a co-designer of Tim Bavington’s sculpture “Pipe Dream” in Symphony Park and an exhibitor at POOL Tradeshow for her jewelry line Ryan Elisabeth. Her writing has been featured in 12th Street Journal.
Ms. Reid is a graduate of the BAFA program at Parsons School of Design (Integrated Design) and Eugene Lang College (Creative Writing). She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
