Melkorka Helgadóttir, A.K.A. Korka, is an Icelandic visual artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Her drawings, paintings, videos, music and clothing are influenced by modern pop culture and personal experiences. Her work explores ideas of identity and internal turmoil. Helgadóttir graduated in 2008 with a BFA degree from the Iceland Academy of the Arts. She received an MFA degree from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2010.
