ArinMaya is an experimental multi-genre soundscapist, singer/songwriter, sound healing practitioner and artist who has self-produced 3+ albums and shared her voice and music throughout the United States and Europe. She believes there is a vast transformational power in music, and seeks to create opportunities to bring out and share this power through circle singing in non-traditional spaces.
ArinMaya easily navigates her way through folk, hip-hop, soul and electrobeat, blending warm round tones with evocative songwriting and wordplay. Her vocal and writing styles draw influences from visionaries like Bobby McFerrin, Nina Simone, and Amel Larrieux, and her performances are fertile ground for musical exchange with her diverse audiences.
A recipient of the Harlem Stage/Jerome Foundation Fund for New Work (2011), ArinMaya is a graduate of the New York Open Center's Sound and Music Institute (2013) and has participated in Circle Singing Workshops and Trainings with Bobby McFerrin, Rhiannon and Voicestra at the Omega Institute. She continues to work with Stephanie Rooker's Voice Journey Sound Center as a circlesongs workshop facilitator and aims to spread love for self and others by encouraging group synergy and clearer communication through sound and song.
