Linda Adato was born in London and attended Hornsey College of Art, UK.
After immigrating to the US she received a BA and MA from UCLA. She now lives and works in Gowanus, Brooklyn.
Her etchings and monotypes depict diverse architectural themes: New York City buildings and bridges and her own back yard. She explores the geometry of the structures in these images and the passage of light at a certain moment or time of day.
Adato has work in the collections of the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts of The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco; the British Museum; Corcoran Gallery of Art; DeCordova Museum; Detroit Institute of Arts; Mississippi Museum of Art; the New York Public Library and other institutions
