Born and raised in Amherst, Massachusetts, Brendan Drake is a freelance choreographer who has been making performances for stage and non-traditional spaces in NYC since 2009. Under the umbrella of his company Brendan Drake Choreography, his work has been produced at Movement Research, Playwrights Horizons, Triskelion Arts Center, City Center Studios, Dixon Place and Westbeth Artist Residences in addition to several garages, lofts and crosswalks throughout the Tri-State area . His most recent full evening work entitled “Last B@#$% Standing” premiered this past February at Triskelion Arts Center as part of their Split Bill Commissioning Series. In March he premiered “Mapping” at the Current Sessions Volume IV, Issue I at the Wild Project which was chosen as a “standout work” by Eye on Dance. He has also served as the movement coordinator on Photo shoots with Photographer Ryan McGinley and choreographed commercial spots for Hermes and Kate Spade. Brendan received his BFA in Dance from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and is a certified Pilates Mat Instructor through the Kane School for Core Integration.
