I grew up in a suburb of Philadelphia and began taking classes at the Cheltenham Center for the Arts when I was four years old. I moved to New York City to attend Barnard College and graduated magna cum laude in 1979. In 1986 I earned a master's degree from Pratt Institute in art therapy. I have taken courses at the Art Students League, the School of Visual Arts, the Fashion Institute of Technology, and Greenwich House Pottery.
I like to create works that amuse, occasionally tackling big issues, without going stark or scary.
