George Goodridge is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts, New York and attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He was awarded the position of Senior Technical Adviser to the Student Body at the School of the Art Institute and has taught Visual Techniques at the School of Visual Arts in New York.
Best known for his three dimensional stretched canvas works, George has relocated several times between New York, Los Angeles and Miami. He was awarded the ESKFF Residency program at Mana Contemporary in Jersey City, NJ, the Art Center South Florida’s artists residency program several times and has participated in Scope, Pulse and other satellite Art Fairs during Art Basel Miami.
His work has been shown and represented by numerous commercial galleries, the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum, the NSU Art Museum, the Boca Raton Museum of Art, and the Korean Embassy in Washington DC. He has had multiple public works purchases and commissioned from United Airlines, The Related Group, Banyan Capital and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.
Notable press includes LandEscape Art Review, WhiteHot Magazine of Contemporary Art, the Examiner, The Miami Herald and Art South Florida, while being featured in multiple art programs for PBS and the Syndicated News Network.
Currently living and working in Brooklyn, New York, he considers his current works dimensional paintings or object paintings. These new works are supported by the artist’s prior studies in geometric reconstruction, three-dimensional painting and conceptual installations.
