Michael Dotolo has been working with time-based media for thepast two decades beginning as a BFA student of Music Composition and Performance in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In relocating to Brooklyn in 2001, he took advantage of professional opportunities to develop his understanding of digital media and performed as a collaborator in the avant-garde band Gunung Sari.
After completing MFA studies in the north of Holland for Interactive Media and Environment, he resided as a technical artist at UmbraSolis in Amsterdam where he contributed to the develop of sound-based installation and performance art.
In the two years following, he taught media and programming courses in Mumbai, India.
All along the way, he has taught workshops in technology-based art, presented his work, lectured, exhibited multimedia installations, and performed with some "pretty wacky musicians".
Currently, Michael is an independent designer for media and web-based technologies, and develops sound-based art installations. He is also a contributing writer (a.k.a. DeFenestrated) for http://www.latuscreativity.it/
