Liesl Pfeffer is a visual artist from Brisbane, Australia, currently living in Brooklyn, New York. In her art practice she constructs imagined and real places and objects through photo-media collage, watercolor, yarn and site specific installation. She holds a Bachelor of Photography from the Queensland College of Art. In 2013, Liesl participated in the New York Foundation for the Arts’ Immigrant Artist Program. In 2014, she was resident at the Wassaic Artist Residency in Wassaic, New York.
Selected solo exhibitions include Hearts and Arrows, Kings ARI, Melbourne (2011), Souvenir, Queensland Centre for Photography, Brisbane (2011), and Souvenir, NO NO Gallery, Melbourne Australia (2010). Recent group exhibitions include Montagnes Design, Nouvelles Inspirations, Couvent SainteCécile, Grenoble, France (2015), Grab Bag, Trestle Projects, Brooklyn NY (2014), The Last Brucennial, presented by the Bruce High Quality Foundation, Manhattan NY (2014) and Post-Photography: Beyond the Print, Target Gallery, Alexandria VA (2014). Liesl received the Queensland Centre for Photography Graduate Prize (2005) and was a finalist in the Churchie Emerging Artist Award (2006).
