Myla Seabrook

Log-in to Favorite

A Brooklyn, New York native, Myla Seabrook is a young artist seeking a place for traditional landscape oil painting in a contemporary world. Seabrook graduated from Hofstra University in 2011 with a double major in Painting and Creative writing, majors that worked together to define her visual vocabulary. Well versed in oil and acrylic painting and inspired by both the natural world and literary fiction, she creates vistas that push the boundaries of dramatic color and scale.

Myla Seabrook is influenced by the work of Albert Bierstadt, George Inness, and Christophe Vacher. She would like her art to evolve into work that maintains the realism of Hudson River School painting while drawing the viewer into fantasy realms that remind them to marvel in the breathtaking beauty of nature.

Recent group exhibitions include the Blank Canvas Gallery in New Hope, PA, two Brooklyn Art Space Member Salons, a RAW Art Showcase, and exhibitions at The Focal Point Gallery on City Island, NY. The artist currently produces work in the Brooklyn Art Space studios in Brooklyn, New York, while residing in Queens.
