Nadia Westcott was born in 1989, Boston, MA. She is a teaching artist who grew up around the vibrant murals of Jamaica Plain neighborhood in Boston. Her participation in social justice arts initiatives as a teenager has paved her interest in how art is used as a method of social change. She graduated from University of Vermont with a BA in Studio Art and Art History in 2012 and has been working with Groundswell in NYC since 2016. Her recent work has been inspired by observations of our current times and how art functions in the context of history. She believes art is an empowering tool and she hopes to inspire the artist in everyone!
