Log-in to Favorite

I was born in Berlin, Germany and I moved to New York City almost a decade ago. ~ Found objects, cloth, rope and gesso are the main materials that I use for my sculptures and for many of my paintings. They are definitely my favorite "ingredients". My art has a surreal and dadaistic feel to it. From early on I was fascinated by the unorthodox European avant-gardes. No doubt that these radical art movements have influenced my own work. The characters that I create are irrational and at times absurd. We cannot decipher the meaning of their behavior while they navigate through an incomprehensible world where nothing is stable or absolute. The doubt of an absolute truth - the idea that reality is beyond our perception - is the recurring theme throughout my work.
