New York artist Marcus Pierce has worked more than fifteen years creating both public and studio figurative art. Primarily an oil and acrylic painter, his works are inspired by classical art, while also creating modern techniques that are unmistakably contemporary. Much of his inspiration comes from introspection and social analysis, but he is equally inspired by forefronts of scientific thought. In his current studio work he creates allegorical paintings of tangible human experience to represent themes inspired by fractal geometry, quantum mechanics, and the biology of vision. He focuses on bringing to viewers an avenue of understanding seemingly elusive scientific concepts, by creating works that connect with fundamental human emotional responses.
