Coleen Scott is a professional costume designer and makeup artist with an MFA in Costume Design from Boston University. Upon graduation, Coleen received the Kahn Award for excellence in design. Since 2006, she has taught costume production to 5th through 12th Graders, and founded a full-year makeup training program (for theater, studio, and film) at Saint Ann's School in Brooklyn. Coleen is also the resident costume designer for Jamal Jackson Dance Company in Brooklyn. She has worked for nearly 20 years in theater, opera, dance, film and television. One highlight in her career was working with Academy Award winning Costume Designer Ann Roth on several film projects. Recent projects include writing a scholarly monograph on the history of burlesque costume for Routledge/Taylor & Francis, and teaching quilting arts to senior citizens in Brooklyn. Coleen is a 2016 and 2017 SU-CASA grant recipient.
