BialoPadinDesigns specializes in handmade jewelry, inspired by nature, textures, textiles, the fluidity of metal, and memories of my family.
I have always loved stones. As a kid, I collected buckets of rocks from construction sites, and brought them home. As I washed them in the basement sink, I'd imagine how they'd look polished and hanging from a chain around my neck. My sisters and I spent hours going through the contents of my mother's jewelry chest. We haunted pawnshops in search of treasures. Whenever my father went on trips he brought home pieces of jewelry for each of us. My mother sewed our clothes when we were young. My grandmother was a costume designer, and I happily spent hours draping fabric in her apartment. With these memories, it really is no wonder that I was drawn to metalworking and stone-setting.
A gallery of my work can be found on my website, www.bialopadindesigns.com. I recently debuted my Woven Silver collection, which can be seen on my web site. I will be expanding the collection to include cufflinks, and I will also be incorporating gemstones and other metals, including gold, into my woven silver pieces. Commissions are welcome. Items currently for sale are on my Esty web site, https://www.etsy.com/shop/BialoPadinDesigns.
