Fatouseck Primus is a dancer, choreographer, teaching artist from Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York. An alumni of Restoration Dance Theater's Youth Academy and Drumming African Ballet Theater's Youth Company, she has studied with many master artists from West Africa and the United States since the age of 3; training in Ballet, Modern and West African. She's performed and taught with many organizations extending from the tristate area, to Dakar, Senegal, including Drumsong African Ballet theater, Kowteff African Dance, Fusha, Restoration Dance Theater, Bakh Yaye, Wato Sita, and Bokandeye African American Dance Theater. As a choreographer, Fatouseck aims to preserve the griot storytelling tradition which can be traced back to precolonial Senegal, while merging it with the nuances of modern and contemporary Senegalese dance.
