My work explores the palimpsestic nature of memory and how we attach memories to objects that are saved or collected throughout our lives. Composed primarily of found paper – correspondence, envelopes, forms, household items, and ephemera – I investigate the impression left by these items to collapse personal histories and reconstruct narratives.

Although the original characteristics of the found objects are retained, I am less concerned with the literal representation and more interested in juxtaposing the seemingly random elements. Refined by my training as a graphic designer, this practice takes the final works beyond the personal narrative to create minimal studies of color and form.
