B. Ann Arbor, MI, 1992.
I grew up in rural and suburban towns in upstate New York. After completing my BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2014, I moved back east, and to Brooklyn in the summer of 2017.
In my paintings, I am interested in representing characters. I am happy if I can capture an facial expression or bodily gesture that is relatable. Georgia O'Keefe said "...to see takes time, like to have a friend takes time." When I draw from life, I endeavor to take the time that is required to see. I also try to be mindful of this truth when I'm with friends.
