Katya Khan is an interdisciplinary artist based in New York City. She works on the intersection of visual art and landscape architecture. Through her practice she seeks to transform physical spaces into places that evoke a sense of belonging to, and connection with, the space, and with other people within that space. Her subjects of interest, among others, include maps, genius loci, plants, vernacular design, and the multiple senses we use to navigate this world.
In addition to working in installation, sculpture, and drawing, she sometimes takes on related projects that include public space interventions, workshops, and various collaborative endeavors.
