This vocalist and writer is the embodiment of a true singing spirit. She started her musical journey at church and since then, advanced into sharing her eclecticism across various stages. There is no genre that she cannot touch. She has a big voice and uses it very well to execute anything from Jazz to pop to R&B or Gospel.
Also a writer, Jeannot received her BA in English/Professional writing from Medgar Evers College and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She most recently published her second collection of poetry entitled, And Then There Was the Music; Poetry and An Essay. She has established herself as a producer and radio show host of the radio program, Jazz on the JNote, a jazz-based talk and music show now in its third year, which airs on the 24/7 rotation of mec.cuny.edu/mec-radio, on theenglishconnectionmedia.com and on WNYE 91.5 FM on Sunday evenings at 7:30PM.
As an independent artist, Jeannot published her second full length album entitled, “We Are People United” which features thirteen of her original works on which she has written all lyrical content and consistently performs her original material with the JNote Band. She has performed with such notable acts as the Bartlett Contemporaries, the original Dreamgirl Jennifer Holiday, bassist Kim Clarke, pianist and songwriter, Lenny Underwood of Unlimited Touch, and songwriter Fred McFarlane, and on some great stages as The Tatarstan Philharmonic in Kazan,
Russia, Shrine World Music Venue in NYC, The Ulan-Ude Philharmonic Hall in Siberia, Milk River in Brooklyn, NY and at countless music festivals such as the Jazz on the Lake festival in Minsk, Belarus, the Archangelsk Blues Festival in Arkhangelsk, Russia, the Fort Greene Park Jazz Festival in Brooklyn, NY, the Dr Mary Umolu Jazzy Jazz Festival at Medgar Evers College, and most recently was the host of the International Women in Jazz Festival held at St Peters Church in Manhattan, just to name a few.
She has been compared to Ledisi, Jill Scott, Ella Fitzgerald, Alicia Keys and Sarah Vaughan but has her own style in her own right. She is a mezzo soprano with a very unique timbre.
