Barnabas Crosby

Barnabas is a visual storyteller, theatre artist, educator, and the creator of Whiskey Boys Ent. A native of Cleveland, he has spent more than twenty years working with arts organization, school districts, and various community organizations on social action projects through media and art.

Barnabas is also the creator of Baldwin + Friends; an annual talk series were members of the community are invited to discuss idea presented in James Baldwin's essays. Now in its third year, Baldwin + Friends has become apart of the Literary Festival at the Schomburg Center in Harlem.

Through storytelling, photography, and moving images, the goal is to document people of color enjoying and celebrating one another. The work with Baldwin text extends on that ideas by bringing varied individuals together to express and understand the nuances of being a person of color.
