Barnabas is an visual storyteller, theatre artist, educator, and the creator of Whiskey Boys Ent. A native of Cleveland, for more than twenty years Barnabas has worked with arts organization, New York City Schools, and various community organizations on social action projects and short films.
As a theatre arts and photographer Barnabas has crafted his storytelling and performance to meet the needs of students in the classroom and for arts organizations like Sugar Hill Children's Museum, BKLYN Combine, The Dandylion Project, HYCIDE Magazine, and Numero Homme Berlin.
In recent years Barnabas has partnered with Humanities NY to host a community conversation series called Baldwin + Friends. In these conversations, participants breakdown some of the dense ideas Baldwin expresses in his essays about democracy, race, and humanity.
The goal in all of this work is to document the complexities of people from the diaspora; how they live, how they love, and how they build sustainable communities.
