Jonathon Lee Shannon is a visual artist currently living in NYC. At the age of 14 Jonathon was scarred for life. He was in a tragic accident that put him in the hospital with the risk of losing his vision. After some time he slowly recovered and used art to free himself.

Several years later, Jonathon recieved his BFA at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) after traveling internationally to locales in France and China, further expanding his understanding of art. He received several honorary scholarships, has worked with well known artists such as Patrick Dorothy and Xu Bing, giving him the inspiration for his own vision, and completed a residency program at Anderson Ranch in Colorado.

This residency program gave him a deeper understanding of abstract art in particular, and helped him formulate his own concept. Jonathon uses acrylic paint, charcoal, and thickening mediums to push the boundaries of representational and abstract. His concept, Reverse Reality, depicts the reversal of the basic forms of life--Organic and Geometric. Working from direct observation, he uses this concept to create a world of his own.
