Uwa Iduozee is a Finnish-Nigerian filmmaker, cinematographer and documentary photographer currently based in Brooklyn, NY. Iduozee has directed multiple short documentaries including TOM OF ROOPERI, A PART OF MOM and ALONE, all which have been broadcast at the Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE. With A PART OF MOM he won the short documentary category at the international 2017 College Photographer of the Year competition. He also directed and shot the five-part short documentary series SE TYYLI (eng. THAT STYLE) about Finnish style influencers that was broadcast on YLE in August 2018.
More recently, Iduozee was part of the 2019 Festival of Political Photography at the Finnish Museum of Photography with his exhibition “They Walked on Water” that chronicles the history of the African diaspora in Finland. Iduozee graduated from The New School’s documentary graduate program in 2019 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in photojournalism from the University of Tampere.
