SONGYI KIM is a mixed media artist born in Seoul, Korea, living and working in Brooklyn, NY. Kim pays attention to discarded and unwanted materials and even her own failed and forgotten old works dealing with the fleeting and yet celebrating quality of life and the world. Her works have been featured in numerous exhibitions including at The Bronx Museum of the Arts, Dorsky Gallery, and TSA in New York. Her residencies include Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, the McColl Center, and the Henry Street Settlement, among others. Kim’s work may also be found in the Deutsche Bank Art Collection.
