Marissa is a Brooklyn based arts educator, director, and dramaturge. As a native Brooklynite, Marissa has a passion for creating equitable and inclusive arts education opportunities, working with such organizations as the Pratt Institute's Center K-12 Marquis Studios and BAX | Brooklyn Arts Exchange. In her artistic practice, Marissa focuses on concepts such as community, performativity, power, and alienation. Most recently, Marissa was an artist-in-residence at Barn Arts Collective's Hamilton Project, where she began development on a new work, "Shrewd," a modern exploration of Shakespeare's The Taming of The Shrew. Marissa is a graduate of Bard College, where she majored in Theater and Performance with a minor in Gender and Sexuality Studies.
