Wéma Harris is an educator, arts advocate, and performing artist hailing from the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn. She’s worked as manager, coordinator and teaching artist for several arts and cultural organizations including The Brooklyn Children’s Museum, Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy, Purelements: An Evolution in Dance, and Medgar Evers College’s  Re-envisioning our Lives through literature program in addition to working as an educator for NYC Department of education schools. A deep love for the arts mobilizes her to create interactive arts and cultural experiences for communities in New York as well as South Africa. Wéma is the founder of Bridges: A Pan-Afrikan Arts movement, a global arts initiative bringing opportunities for international arts exchange, community advocacy, and global partnerships. She continues developing new interactive arts experiences with a focus on community and social justice. Wéma Harris holds a BA degree in Theater from Pace University.
