Wellness Care Package: Cheryl Walpole-Tiku

Led by Cheryl Walpole-Tiku, What Is In the Way? Creative Arts Intervention for Self-Awareness & Momentum guides the audience through recognizing potential stressors and deterrents that interfere with objectives, general well-being, and enjoyment. Through this exercise, you will explore these pieces of energy that get in the way of what you want to accomplish or enjoy in the present moment.

Wellness Care Package: Maraliz Campos

Maraliz Campos leads the audience through Combination Sound Experience: Breathwork, Vocalizations & Mantra. Maraliz (she/they) is a Paraguayan-American therapeutic sound artist, producer, and DJ who has turned chronic illness into a muse. Over the course of 14 years of disability, Maraliz healed their own body of 12 incurable autoimmune illnesses by combining scientific and intuitive modalities.

It is deeply important for artists, creatives, and cultural workers to engage in life-affirming rituals that stabilize and nurture the spirit within them that drives their passions and interests.

In addition, participants work independently and collaboratively to develop advanced reading, writing, and editing skills.

This coaching session led by Desiree Gordon will dive into Brooklyn Arts Council’s various funding streams including Brooklyn Arts Fund, Local Arts Support, the Charlene Victor & Ella J. Weiss Cultural Entrepreneur Fund, and the Creative Equations Fund. Learn to match your proposal to the appropriate BAC regrant program ahead of BAC’s 2024 grant cycle announcement.
