BAC Wellness Festival in partnership with The Billie Holiday Theatre
On July 29th, Brooklyn Arts Council partners with The Billie Holiday Theatre from 5:30 pm – 10:00 pm for BAC Wellness Festival!
The festival will be held outside in the main plaza and will feature live music from renowned musicians and performers that represent the diverse creative community of Brooklyn. Join us for a day of healing pop-up activities, learn about healing traditions through BAC Sonic Clinic pop-up exhibition featuring digital art by David Gumbs, and engage in health-based conversations and health screenings with Brooklyn Plaza Medical Center.

Accompanying each Sonic Clinic are digital artworks by artist David Gumbs, whose creations move you through these healing soundscapes. Musical compositions by Zane Rodulfo; Vong Pak and Junghee Oh; Samir Langus; Aeilushi Mistry; and Martin Vejarano.
SCHEDULE
5:30 PM – 6:30 PM: Brooklyn Plaza Medical Center: Will provide at-home test kits and blood pressure health screening at the event.
6:45 PM – 7:30 PM: Samir LanGus: Gnawa Healing in Brooklyn
Join Moroccan musician Samir Langus accompanied by drummer Nizar Dahmani for an intimate concert in the heart of Brooklyn. Listen to the healing sounds of Gnawa music traditionally played during a ritual ceremony.
7:45 PM – 8:45 PM: Zane Rodulfo: Afro-Diasporic Musical
Come listen to electronics and live percussion with drummers Zane Rodulfo & Rhys Thompson during their live set. This music is a blend of soca, house, afrobeats & many more. Their set will honor the tradition of healing, joy, & liberation found in Black Music.
9:00 PM - 10:00 PM: Sonic Clinic Digital Art Show

BAC Wellness Studio builds on our mission of empowering artists with a focus on what artists need to be healthy and how artists contribute to the holistic thriving of Brooklyn communities; the well-being of Brooklyn’s artists is fundamental to the prosperity and spirit of Brooklyn. BAC Sonic Clinic is a cross-cultural musical healing experience for our online and on-site visitors. The exhibition will feature musical sounds from immigrant populations throughout Brooklyn.
