WHO ARE THE CRIMEAN TATARS OF UKRAINE?

In partnership with the American Association of Crimean Tatars, USA Representative of the World Congress of Crimean Tatars, Ayla Bakkali, curated an afternoon of conversation, traditional poetry, dance and music to bring education and justice to Ukrainian Crimea. The afternoon featured Neriman Asan (violinist), leader of the NYC Crimean Tatar Ensemble.

Part of the Artist on Site Residency series in partnership with Brooklyn Public Library. This program was supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.

This event was part of Tracking Traditions Along the B/Q, BAC's summer Folk Arts program series.
