Lucia Warck-Meister: Plant a Story
September 27, 2025
2:00pm – 4:00pm
Sunset Park Public Library
This is a hands-on workshop perfect for all ages! We’ll begin by sharing folk tales from across Latin America—stories rich with tradition and imagination, passed down through generations. These tales will inspire the images participants will paint onto their own mini plant pot. Once the design is complete, they fill the pot with soil and seeds, then take it home to nurture. In the weeks that follow, they’ll see the plant begin to grow—a living symbol of culture, creativity, and our deep-rooted connection to nature. This workshop: - Encourages appreciation for Hispanic and Latine heritage through the sharing of traditional folk tales, honoring the rich storytelling traditions passed down through generations. - Fosters creative self-expression by inviting participants to paint imagery inspired by these stories - By planting seeds and caring for a growing plant, participants also cultivate stewardship and patience, connecting with nature in a meaningful way.
